Dianna and Kayla recapped the last competition…accepted the fact they lost against the Divas of Compton…now on to the next.

This was the first time the Dolls entered a Freestyle challenge. I have watched the shows season after season, Dianna is not the one to back down from a challenge. There have been rumors in the social media that she tries to rigged the competitions so the Dancing Dolls can win them all. There is also a rumor that she don’t want great teams to come along in fear of getting embarrassed. But teams continue to call out the Dancing Dolls and show off on the dancing floor. I am just a confused at it all. But anyways, back to the recap.

Dianna picked the 6 girls for the Freestyle Competition: Daija, Makya, Camryn, Cristyanna, Faith, and Kenjinee. You have to give it up for Daija, who has been on the team for only 8 months and when she is there to battle…SHE WILL BATTLE YOU WITHOUT A QUESTION. DDP member Tina B (Kayla’s mom) initially had her concerns about the girls being in a Freestyle challenge. She believed the girls are on their A game and at other times, they are not.

Dianna notified the girls that they will be battling Southern Royalettes, Divas of Dance, and Dazzling Divas of Macon. Coach D informed them of each team’s stregnths: Southern Royalettes had a more performing arts background; Divas of Dance (who beat them in stand battle last season) are very clean with their formations and have crazy tricks; and the Dazzling Divas of Macon have more of an aggressive hip hop background.

As normal, the girls struggled in the practice. Shamika and Dana had concerns and asked the Assistant Coach Kayla to assit in helping their daughters Daija and Faith get ready for the dance war. Rittany was not too pleased with finding out later that the moms got more assistance, so she wanted Kayla to work with Crystianna, which ended with great results. Kayla is a great asset to Dianna because she knows what needs to be done in order to win in a competition.

Now it is Showtime. Crowd is really deep. There were four great teams going head to head for the trophy and it was intense from the moment they walked through the door. Rick and Penelope, coaches of FADD, claimed to be a threat against the Dancing Dolls and had the confidence to win. They felt that the Dolls do a lot of repitive stands and needed them to come up with something new. DDP parents felt that the Dazzling Divas of Macon was going to bring a lot of energy with their aggressive hip hop, so the Dolls needed to be on their A game. I think people often forget the point that the Dancing Dolls are a MAJORETTE TEAM, not Ballet, Contemporary…they are MAJORETTE TEAM. A lot of their aestethics are very different from a regular dance competition

I said on my Twitter account, right after the Dancing Dolls won the Battle Royale on Season 3A, a whole lot of teams were coming for their heads. That is part of the game. When you are on top, there is someone out there coming for your spot. They might just have fun with the compeition or be downright dirty.

At the beginning of the competition, there was the Freestyle Competition. First Round, Dancing Dolls went against the Southern Royalettes, who is a great team…Even Coach D can not deny that. However, the Dancing Dolls won the first round in a clean sweep!

In the second round, they battled Divas of Dance (who beat them in Stands Battle last Season). It was a tough competition between the two groups. But Faith in the Freestyle competition, showed she was more than a ballerina. She was a raging bull. Working with Kayla did her some justice.

As noted on blogger Justinj1232, They did a horrible job with the editing when they show Crystianna’s one on one performances. If you paid attention, Crystianna battles in the freestyle against the Southern Royalettes then the Divas of Dance in the second round. But during the second round, the cameras showed Crystianna going against Southern Royalettes again. Producers have to watch out for details or fire the interns on the cutting room floor. At the end, the Dancing Dolls beat Divas of Dance in the Freestyle Competition.

It was on to the Stand Battles. Dancing Dolls went against Southern Royalettes. According to the extended clips I watched, Southern Royalettes does have great techniques but they looked winded and out of sync. At times, if you watch the clips carefully, their timing was off at several times. Dancing Dolls clearly walked away with a win from that.

Now, it was time to battle the Dazzling Divas of Macon. They were ready for the war against the Dancing Dolls. They came with their aggressive moves and Dancing Dolls clapped back (only from what I seen aired on the tv screen). At the end, they only show parents about to fight against each other…the coaches (Coach D and Coach Rick of FADD) having war of words with each other…security had to get involve and calm everybody down.

Thanks to the people acting a fool, the judges made the collective decision to not award a trophy in stand battle. That means ALL FOUR TEAMS…who have stayed up late practicing on school nights; sacrificing their weekends; and endured leg cramps and sweat, were cheated out of their hardwork due to the actions of parents AND the coaches. I will admit, I have been able to seen footage taken by people in the audience of this stand battle and it was GREAT footage. NO…I will not determine a winner in this recap based on that ONE FOOTAGE.

I was appalled by the actions of everyone who have caused all the teams efforts to go down the drain. These teams were started in neighborhoods plagued by drugs and violence. It gave opportunities to girls AND boys to have something to look forward to outside of the environment they were born into. Why bring those elements into a place that is suppose to be positive? Why bring the violence you see on the streets into a dance competition that is suppose to be fun and games? Of course, the competition becomes intense. But do you have to compromise your integrity to prove something. None of you coaches out there did not create these teams to have a gang fight at a dance competition. They were created out of passion and wanting the individuals to succeed in life. They need to understand that they are there to support their child and the team…not there to FIGHT!

I hope FADD, Divas of Dance, Southern Royalettes and Dancing Dolls have another battle soon. I hope all the ADULTS control themselves.

Ciao
